For Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba, responsive leadership requires an unwavering connection to the people and consistent consultations with grassroots stakeholders. This enduring conviction was in display when the Executive Secretary at his National Assembly Library office, welcomed seasoned grassroot leader, Chief Ugonna Achuko, former Chairman of Mbaitoli East Development Area Council.

The conversation between Rt. Hon. Nwawuba and Chief Achuko was both warm and focused. Delving into grassroots development and party politics, both leaders emphasized that political processes and governance structures must consistently serve the day-to-day welfare of everyday citizens.

Drawing from his extensive tenure representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nwawuba reaffirmed that sustainable progress begins at the grassroots. He noted that even as he oversees national legislative research and institutional modernization, working with local stakeholders remains vital.

“Effective governance begins by listening closely to the heartbeat of our communities. When we sustain genuine engagement with grassroots leaders, we ensure our developmental vision reflects the real aspirations and everyday needs of the people we serve.”
