Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba let the management team of the National Assembly Library to an engaging and forward-looking consultative session as they welcomed delegates from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
The visit provided a vital platform to explore strategic partnerships ahead of the historic 14th World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), scheduled to take place in Abuja from November 15–21, 2026.
The discussions between the library team and the NIPR delegates were both centered on the Forum’s theme, “Responsible Communication in a Digitised World.” The dialogue explored the shifting dynamics of media, institutional messaging, and the critical role public relations plays in building public trust.
Having served on the federal legislative floor and now leading a major national research institution, Nwawuba noted that in an era marked by rapid digitalization and information overflow, responsible communication is essential for democratic stability. He highlighted that when public institutions communicate with integrity, transparency, and clarity, they foster citizen confidence and strengthen democratic institutions.
He expressed his enthusiasm for exploring meaningful areas of collaboration between the National Assembly Library and the NIPR, reaffirming his dedication to supporting initiatives that elevate Nigeria’s intellectual capital. Moving forward, the Executive Secretary remains steadfast in working closely with professional bodies to ensure that WPRF 2026 is an outstanding success that showcases the nation’s commitment to progressive, responsible, and visionary leadership.
