The international community recently converged in Istanbul, Türkiye, for the 152nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly, a premier global forum for parliamentary dialogue. Among the distinguished Nigerian delegation, led by the President of the Senate, His Excellency Godswill Akpabio, was Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba, the Executive Secretary of the National Assembly Library.
Under the theme “Nurturing Hope, Securing Peace, and Ensuring Justice for Future Generations,” the assembly served as a platform for world leaders to address the most pressing challenges facing modern democracy.

According to Nwawuba, “this engagement is an important opportunity to strengthen the role of the National Assembly Library in supporting modern lawmaking. I believe the Library must continue to evolve into a center of innovation by connecting with leading global parliamentary research and digital resource systems. Our lawmakers need access to quality data, strong historical context and reliable research support to make informed decisions.”
