Leadership isn’t just about managing resources; it’s about safeguarding people.

Recently, Rt. Hon. Nwawuba had the distinct pleasure of witnessing and actively participating in the establishment and training of the National Assembly Special Marshals at the National Assembly Library. This vital program was brought to life by a dedicated delegation from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), capably led by the FCT Sector Commander, CC Tijani Iliyasu.

Why This Matters

Road safety is a collective responsibility. When we look at the statistics surrounding road mishaps, it becomes clear that enforcement alone isn’t enough—we need education, discipline, and proactive leadership.

This initiative is an important step toward embedding those exact values—awareness, discipline, and emergency response preparedness—into the fabric of our daily operations. It was incredibly encouraging to watch participants fully immerse themselves in the curriculum, eager to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to serve their fellow citizens effectively.

“Together, we can create safer roads and more informed communities,” Hon. Nwawuba.

Looking Forward

Nwawuba personally commended CC Tijani Iliyasu and the entire FRSC team for this invaluable partnership. Their commitment to fostering a culture of safety and responsibility across institutions is truly inspiring.

As public servants, our duty extends beyond our office walls. By stepping up and establishing the Special Marshals, the team is ready to lead by example, ensuring that the National Assembly complex becomes safer and more secure.
